Interview With Nick from Need

Joining The Sweet Bonjour today is the lovely Nick from the fantastic YA novel, Need. I would just like to say a huge thank you to Nick for taking time out of his busy werewolf schedule to talk with me today. I present you Nick!

TSB: Hello Nick! For those people who haven't read Need by Carrie Jones, why don't you tell everyone what it's like being a pixie-killing werewolf?

N: Well, I guess it's kinda hard work. You know, especially if you have to do it like all the time but Zara makes it pretty easy for me. She's always there to help and you know just be kick-ass!

TSB: Wow, so it seems you and Zara are very close. How would you describe your relationship?

N: Well I guess just like every other couple except we kill pixies.

TSB: Uh huh. Okay...Well we all know that you can be a bit of a bad boy. What's it like maintaining that kind of status when you know if people only knew what you really are?
N: Well, to be honest I love that people think I'm a bad boy, which I didn't really know that they do. But if they do that's great! It gives people an excuse not to talk to me which is good because Zara's the only one I really wanna talk to. Plus, high school girls are weird.

TSB: Now, what would you say is the best thing about being a were?

N: I think it's cool because you kinda have an alter-ego that no one knows about. Each morning I get up and instead of feeling crap because I'm a werewolf, I feel great because I just imagine I'm like Superman! You know, nobody knew who Superman was and look at him. He was saving people all over the world. I guess I aspire to be Superman so the best thing is knowing that I'm like him (sort of).

TSB: Everyone who's read the book knows that phobias play a big part in Need. Do you have any?
N: Me? Well...Uh....Don't tell anybody this but I'm sort of scared of uhhhh..Water. I think the correct term is Hydrophobia. I know it's like weird because usually cats are scared of water and I'm a werewolf but just whenever I see it I just freak out. God, I'm so ashamed!
